Pronunciation
editAnyone know how "Honeoye" is usually pronounced? When I lived in Rochester I mostly heard it as "honey way" but I'd be curious how people from the village pronounce it, and for wikipedia we'd need some reputable sources on current and historical pronunciation. thx1138 (talk) 23:47, 29 October 2008 (UTC)
--No, definitely not! I'm from Honeoye Falls and I live there right now. It's pronounced "Honey Oye" (Rhymes with "boy"!) just like it looks. Not "way". Noodle Guy (talk) 02:02, 27 February 2009 (UTC)
some people say "honey eye" which is also incorrect... it is "honey oye" —Preceding unsigned comment added by 74.74.137.210 (talk) 02:30, 13 February 2011 (UTC)
Incorporation Date
editPittsford says "oldest village in Monroe County" with an incorporation date of 1827, while Honeoye Falls says it is dated 1791. These villages are both in Monroe County. Obviously, 1791 is much older than 1827. But, the village presidents for Honeoye Falls start with the year of 1838. So, this place could not have been a village back in 1791. What is the correct incorporation date? NewYorkeruser (talk) 03:33, 25 December 2011 (UTC)
It was incorporated in 1838 which might be worth adding to the article. There is a difference between founding and incorporating. http://www.villageofhoneoyefalls.org/aov_history.php 24.218.167.83 (talk) 03:51, 15 October 2012 (UTC)
