Sloth

Can someone please put a picture of the revealed Sloth on the page. Evilgidgit 12:43, 14 November 2006 (UTC)

Father

Maybe a section on Father should be added to this section? After all, his body is composed of the same elements as theirs, hinting he may be homunculi, but, they are his "children", they share his soul, correct? Also, he's the lead antagonist in the manga, Dante has her own section, giving Father one seems appropriate to me...I suggest placng it here since he created the homunculus and all.

not enough information is really known about Father to do a full part for him. once the manga reveals more, or if someone from Japan who knows enough English does, there is not a way to give him much of anything other than a passing mention every few sentences. - IP: 24.19.81.253, 02 April, 2007

Envy as a "he"

It is my impression that Envy was designed to be androgynous. Should we really imply that Envy is male?--68.57.170.209 05:34, 23 December 2006 (UTC)

What then, “it”? —Frungi 21:10, 24 December 2006 (UTC)
First of all, several forms of differently- or non-gendered pronouns exist. Secondly, this is a fabricated human-mimicking entity. "It" seems entirely fair. Cheeser1 05:19, 23 February 2007 (UTC)
he's only androgynous in the anime. IP: 24.19.81.253, 02 April, 2007

No, apparently Envy's androgynous in the manga too. And considering even Envy has no idea what gender s/he really is, "it" seems like a perfectly acceptable way to refer to the character. And it seems more likely for the manga version, considering Envy's creation in the manga compared to the anime. In the anime, it's revelealed he is a he. In the manga he's androgynous. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.181.105.197 (talk) 08:46, August 30, 2007 (UTC)

Sloth's Description

Okay, this is getting very annoying. I keep trying to correctly edit Sloth's blurb and some one is continuously returning it to it's incorrect former description.

Sloth is not an amalagate of Gluttony and Envy's True form. Envy's true form is even displayed on this page and Sloth looks nothing like that! Sloth looks like a muscular version of Envy's "cute" default form.

I'd like a correct revision made to the article. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 68.33.9.99 (talk) 14:59, 3 March 2007 (UTC).

Mispronounciation

Why do you anime/manga fans use Japaneses mispronunciations as actual pronunciations? It´s not "puraido" it´s PRIDE and so on... pardon my French: but for fucks sake just because the japs can´t speak English doesn´t make it canon. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 82.117.96.5 (talk) 17:25, 22 March 2007 (UTC).

The third entry in the {{nihongo}} template, you mean? The reason it's the Japanese mispronunciation is because it's supposed to be the literal pronunciation of the kana used to write the name. We refer to her as Lust, but the Japanese characters used to write the name are Ra-su-to. (A decent seiyu would gloss over the u and o though, giving a real pronunciation more like "Rawst") --tjstrf talk 18:55, 22 March 2007 (UTC)
and just because you don't understand the Japanese language doesn't give you the right to call them 'mispronounciations'. that is how the Japanese pronounce the names, because of their language being different from ours. IP: 24.19.81.253, 02 April, 2007
Actually, since the words are foreign in origin calling the Japanese pronunciations mispronunciations is pretty accurate, though if we wanted to be kinder I suppose we could call them approximations. --tjstrf talk 17:49, 21 May 2007 (UTC)

Pride's identity.

It is possible Pride is merely possessing Salem. Granted, Salem is pointed to indeed being Pride. But the possession is a theory on the fullmetal-alchemist.com forums that's somewhat plausible. We do not know where Pride's Ouroboros is or what exactly Pride's powers are yet. --Juigi Kario (Charge! * My crusades) 23:01, 11 April 2007 (UTC)

but no one has saying any thing but for the moment we cant say anything yet so wait for chápter 41 to say your theory

If Pride had just been possessing Salem, he could have just transferred bodies once he had been discovered. That would have been less hassle and leave Riza's discovery useless. I think Salem really is Pride. (NewDreams2 15:08, 14 May 2007 (UTC))

That`s nearly ilogical. Pride came from Father`s inner senses, but a creation like Wrath( Bradley) and Greed( Ling Yao) is also a possibility. Besides, the possition of Pride`s Ouroboros mark is unknown. Maybe he has it in his chest. Or in his back. Or inside him.( in the worst of the cases)MagnusLordN (talk) 21:32, 4 June 2008 (UTC)

Lust

I may be mistaken here, but didn't Gluttony find Dr Marchoh's liquid philosopher stone and state that it smelled like Lust. Couldn't that be an avenue for Lust's possible return?

(NewDreams2 14:56, 14 May 2007 (UTC))

Perhaps, but I guess we shouldn't input our guesses into this article. However, we can add Gluttony's remark as a sidenote to Lust's entry, or put it under a totally different heading like "Trivia". Revue 03:01, 16 May 2007 (UTC)

Hmm. The section on Lust is written in the past tense. While I realize this is because she's dead, it really, really doesn't flow well with the rest of the article.

Yeah, but a second Lust`s creation stills as a mystery. Remember thet her Stone became a pile of dust, and she won`t reincarnate for that. A new Stone has to be forged.MagnusLordN (talk) 21:27, 4 June 2008 (UTC)

A new section: References to The Divine Comedy

I guess we should put one up. I know many of us realize that the series draws heavily from The Divine Comedy when it comes to the homunculi; the most blatant references would be their deaths, their motives and even the order in which they appear! Revue 03:08, 16 May 2007 (UTC)

Only Lust's death mirrors the punishment and purging of the lustful in the Divine Comedy so far. As for their motives, they are acting on their sins, so of course that will be similar. As for their order of appearance, it is not in line with the order of the sins in the Divine Comedy either, with Envy and Sloth being out of place. Pictures?

What happened to the pictures of Sloth, Lust, and Greed?

They were deleted. They did not meet the minimum giudelines for a claim of fair use and were subsequently removed from the article and deleted. TomStar81 (Talk) 00:57, 3 August 2007 (UTC)
I've re-added the pics, giving them the proper rationale needed and re-enforcing some of the others pics that didn't have the rationale. Jack Of Hearts | Miss A Turn 00:40, 15 August 2007 (UTC)
Good job. I would make two suggestions though: try as best as you can to nail down the chapters from the manga from which the pictures are taken; the more specific you can be the better the chances are of having the pictures stay. My other suggest would be to look into the non-free fair use rational template we have here; you can find an example of this template at the bottom of any image I uploaded for FMA (mostly for the state military). This template gives specific boxes that can be filled in to ensure that all nessicary fair use compliance lines are covered. TomStar81 (Talk) 01:52, 15 August 2007 (UTC)
