It seems that the edit by IP address 86.73.72.40 : Non-classicality of homodyne measurements and the reference : T. Amri, Quantum behavior of measurement apparatus, arXiv:1001.3032 (2010). is not relevant to the encyclopedic nature of wikipedia. It may even be self promotion. The IP address 86.73.72.40 has gone about adding this reference and information rtelated to this reference at several Physics pages. Non-linear mixing? edit

The multiplication of the received signal by local reference oscillator is a non-linear operation on the signal. You're multiplying two time-varying signals. Intellec7 (talk) 20:53, 31 October 2014 (UTC)Reply

Wigner function edit

In the section about optics, it is worth noting that with homodyne detection, the projection of the Wigner function is measured on a certain axis, which rotates depending on the phase facing one of the arms.
