Vandlism on this page
The References indicate "Holland Ta mere suce des graines". Which translates from French to "Holland your mum suck nuts." I sincerely doubt this is the proper reference but for some reason am unable to edit it. major edit April 2009
I have rewritten the introduction so that it more closely conforms to what Holland actually wrote when presenting his theory. From the first few paragraphs, I also removed the links that were enumerated as if they were footnotes. One link was dead, one went to a source that had no identifying information, one was to a commercial site that is linked repeatedly in this article, and one that was just not a good source.

changed image
The image that had been here showed a hexagon divided into pie shaped wedges. That is not how Holland represented his theory of types. In fact, he labeled the corners of the hexagon on the outside for the specific reason that he wanted to emphasize that the distance between the corners, across the hexagon, corresponded to the size of the correlation between the types. For example, he measured the correlation between Artistic and Conventional as .11 ... that's the lowest correlation between any two codes, and correspondingly, they are arrayed on the hexagon at the greatest distance possible. Showing the hexagon as comprised of wedges is inconsistent with Holland's view and with the typical way in which the Holland codes are graphically displayed.
