A memory
editFor a while in the late 1970s, Holiday on Ice was based in Knoxville, Tennessee in its off (summer) season, when the show were prepared and rehearsed for the beginning of touring in the fall. The company had a softball team, which resulted in seeing scores in the agate type of the Knoxville News-Sentinel's sports pages such as "TVA 14, Holiday on Ice 5". Not particularly the softball team but the story of HoI's off-season homes, or at least a listing, would be a great touch if someone is a real skating afficianado/historian and could provide such. Memories from a skater...
This is wonderful to have a page on Holiday on Ice. We were performers with Holiday on Ice from 1966 - 1977. The name of our skating act was "The Cook Family" consisting of Father (Calvin) Mother (Dorilyn) Twin Brothers (Kelly & Kris) and Daughter (Kim).
Famous skaters
editAt least in the past, Holiday on Ice DID have olympic-level skaters and national champions in its ranks, such as Hans-Jürgen Bäumler. Also, the acrobatics can't be that new, I remember when I was a kid and my uncle and aunt were still performing with HoI, there was an act called "The Flying Ukrainian" who would jump over a row of barrels. This must have been something like 20 years ago. --84.46.9.164 16:58, 17 August 2007 (UTC)
