May 2024 Discussion on title photo edit

I have noticed that User:Traumnovelle replaced "the eyes of the bird" title photo with Wasp Hangar telling that the sculpture does not tell much about the suburb. I'd argue that hangar alone is also not the best choice. Let's discuss what would be the best object to put there? I can volunteer to wait for good weather and to take a photograph of more suitable place? I can suggest these options to consider:

A photo from the launch road to include both hangars and new apartment block on Launch road.
A photo of Saturday market and probably the The Catalina Bay Hangar
Sunderland lodge
Headquarters
Chichester Cottage
Mill house (Bear Park)
Clark's house

Images should be relevant (i.e. should be of something/somewhere specifically mentioned in the article) per WP:MOSIMAGES and there should not be too many (I think for the size of the article there are sufficient if not slightly too many) per WP:IMAGEDD. I'm not really attached to anything in particular, I just don't believe the top half of a sculpture is a very useful image and not one that should show up when looking up the suburb.

A skyline shot would be best, ideally from above Brigham Creek at the Sinton end facing South East, but I guess that's quite hard to take.

The aircraft hangars are characteristic of the area as it served as the northern Auckland air base for nearly a century.

Another good shot would be from the harbour of Limeburners Bay including the new developments and the older 90s houses.

Other useful shots not included (but not for the main image) include the industrial estate and a shot showcasing what now stands on the old Laurenson farmhouse which is already shown in the body. Traumnovelle (talk) 11:54, 9 May 2024 (UTC)Reply
