Added From Historical Society Source: Bishop John Henry Hobart

edit

Hello, I picked up the book on the history of the village of Hobart from the Historical Society and I added it as a source here for the paragraph on Bishop John Henry Hobart, for whom the village is named. Enjoy!

Hobart Becomes a Book Town

edit

In May, 2005, Hobart became a "Book Town". There are approximately 35 - 40 Book Towns worldwide, and only a handful in the USA. Hobart is the only one East of the Mississippi River. By definition, a Book Town is a small, rural community with a high concentraion of book stores. Hobart is the trail head of the "Book Village Trail", which includes several more book stores, less than twenty miles away. [1] The Hobart Book Village is this year's recipient of the prestigious Delaware County Chamber of Commerce's Tourism Property of the Year Award. Donald Dales, one of the founding members of the Book Village, has also received the Recognition of Achievement Award given by the Greater Stamford Area Chamber of Commerce [2] for the work that he has done in the community to engineer this economic development tool.
