Talk:History of the Baháʼí Faith

Latest comment: 1 year ago by Abdul Muhib in topic Neutrality

created and linked from Baha'i Faith

edit

There seemed to be no source for a history page other than the biographical pages and the timeline. This page will reduce the amount of info on the main Baha'i page and can serve as a kind of summary of the biographical pages for the central figures. Also, the biographical pages do not go into any detail that is not about that individual. Cunado19 04:24, 2 August 2005 (UTC)Reply

I copied and pasted from the Baha'i Faith page just so it's not blank. I'm assuming people will delete this and make a real article. Cunado19 01:17, 3 August 2005 (UTC)Reply

Template 'Apostles of Bahá'u'lláh on this page

edit

This template shows 'part of the series'. I feel this is confusing and unlogic. Can it be removed? Wiki-uk 09:02, 2 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

title

Someone changed it to "History of the Baha'i Faith", and I changed it back to "Baha'i history". The move was done without discussion, and there are several pages that follow the same style, Baha'i literature, Baha'i teachings, Baha'is laws, etc. Cuñado   - Talk 23:27, 1 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

Neutrality

edit

"Note: this page is dedicated to presenting the history of the Bahá'í Faith as understood by Bahá'í historical texts and literature. For dissenting views of succession see Bahá'í divisions."

A short note like this that the page is not going to follow WP:NPOV does not give it license to ignore it. Neitherday 14:50, 27 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

Totally agree that the current page is in need of a lot of work. It needs references from sources that are predominiately not Baha'i. I'll work on improving in the next couple of days and removing content which is not neutral. Regards, -- Jeff3000 01:08, 28 September 2007 (UTC)Reply
I've worked on it some, and got some more sections to go. Hopefully I'll get to them in the next couple days. Regards, -- Jeff3000 03:14, 28 September 2007 (UTC)Reply
Many years later I am struck with the lack of NPOV here. Abdul Muhib 24 July 2023 — Preceding unsigned comment added by Abdul Muhib (talkcontribs) 02:15, 24 July 2023 (UTC)Reply

Merge proposal

edit

Cuñado proposed to merge Baháʼí timeline here. Would he please explain the rationale? – Finnusertop (talkcontribs) 11:34, 17 January 2021 (UTC)Reply

If timelines are a thing (see Template:Timelines of religion) then I guess I'll rescind my proposal. I was looking for opportunities to merge and consolidate pages that have sprawled over time. I would vote to delete all the timelines. I'm not sure how they could be useful. Cuñado ☼ - Talk 05:00, 18 January 2021 (UTC)Reply
