Talk:History of railroads in Michigan

Years of establishing rail service edit

Rail service began in the US in 1830 with the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad. The earliest year of service, as documented in wikipedia articles is 1867. Surely there were railroads operating in Michigan by 1850. When did particular railroads begin in the state, and on which railroads?

Can anyone help with this? Dogru144 19:52, 24 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

Please be judicious in edits edit

Some persons have been gutting the article. e.g.,:

A person found the earliest RR in the state; then s/he stripped out mention of two other early railroads in the state. The latter action was not necessary. Dogru144 06:56, 3 September 2007 (UTC)Reply
