Timeline
editChanges were made according to the timeline of dynasties. Inscriptions found at Bhattiprolu (Guntur District, A.P.,) pointed out the existance of a small kingdom that predated Mauryan kingdom. Satavahanas were vassals of Mauryans and became independent around 250 BCE. Pandyan kingdom postdates Satavahanas.
Introduction
editThe introduction mentions that the history of South India begins at 200 BC. But the Pandyas were ruling from the 6th Century BC itself. This needs to be changed --Chandrachoodan Gopalakrishnan
- Find it hard to believe that. Any historical proof (except Devaneyan-style concoctions)?

- Perhaps this is important (the age of artifacts may range from 500-1500BC), but it is hardly a notable site. I hope some one presents a paper on this soon.

Pallavas
editThe main page talks of Pallavapuri in AP being the capital of the Pallavas. Someone verified that fact? History talks of Kanceepuram/Kanchipuram as the capital of the Pallavas, which places it squarely in Tamil Nadu. Can the original author correct the fact, or can I go ahead and do it myself?
And, as far as I know, Pulekesin's Vatapi (now known as Badami) is in Northern Karnataka. Badami, Bijapur and Sholapur still have many monuments of the Chaulukyas.
The page needs a lot of improvement - some photographs too. A good place to start for photographs is Ruins of India, at Flickr --Chandrachoodan Gopalakrishnan 16:32, 18 November 2005 (UTC)

Reorder
editI have made some additions and rearrangements to the various ancient dynasties. They were not listed in any particular order. I've made them chronological. I have also removed some weasle words and POV text. - Parthi 04:53, 15 June 2006 (UTC)
