When Lisbon came under Visigothic rule? edit

The Suebi took Lisbon first time in or around 448 but lost it 456 when a Visigothic intervention restored the Roman administration. In 469 the Suebi took Lisbon again. However, it seems the city came under Visigothic rule even before the final incorporation of the Suebi kingdom (585). So when exactly Lisbon did fall in Visigothic hands? --Roksanna (talk) 06:54, 10 July 2011 (UTC)Reply

Article needs cleaning and re-work edit

As per an editor suggestion I’ve read this article. In my opinion the article is more about Portugal than about Lisbon. I would recommend to follow other examples like the article on the History of London. The article has an additional problem, it is a patchwork of dozens of different sources, some of them not related to Lisbon at all. It would be better to base the article on a reduced but solid number of good books. In addition a lot of important people on Lisbon’s history are left out (e.g. Duarte Pacheco) and important events like the several Lisbon earthquakes are ignored. A good source can also be found at the city of Lisbon website, here [1]. This article from the City of Lisbon is truly a good article.J Pratas 18:41, 5 March 2015 (UTC)

Carlstak I have made some bold editing on the "New State" section. I do thing the article needs to be more about the History of Lisbon and much less about Portugal. Before proceeding with any major similar rework I would like to have some feed back on the radical change I've made.J Pratas 14:58, 7 March 2015 (UTC)Reply
