Orphaned references in History of Australia (1851–1900)

edit

I check pages listed in Category:Pages with incorrect ref formatting to try to fix reference errors. One of the things I do is look for content for orphaned references in wikilinked articles. I have found content for some of History of Australia (1851–1900)'s orphans, the problem is that I found more than one version. I can't determine which (if any) is correct for this article, so I am asking for a sentient editor to look it over and copy the correct ref content into this article.

Reference named "aec.gov.au":

  • From Australian electoral system: "Microsoft Word - Compulsory Voting in Australia.doc" (PDF). Retrieved 2010-06-16.
  • From Indigenous Australians: "AEC.gov.au". AEC.gov.au. 25 Oct. 2007. Retrieved 27 Jun. 2010. {{cite web}}: Check date values in: |accessdate= and |date= (help)

I apologize if any of the above are effectively identical; I am just a simple computer program, so I can't determine whether minor differences are significant or not. AnomieBOT 14:08, 3 January 2011 (UTC)Reply

Gold rushes and Eureka stockade

edit

Hello all

I have replaced unsourced original research and poorly sourced content with content from History of Australia which is based on recent scholarship. I have added a sub-section on the Eureka stockade.

Happy to discuss. Aemilius Adolphin (talk) 05:59, 13 July 2024 (UTC)Reply

I have also added a sub-section on colonial self-government. I have changed the section heading to reflect the new content. Aemilius Adolphin (talk) 06:24, 13 July 2024 (UTC)Reply

Democratic right and restrictions

edit

Hello all

I have changed the section heading from "Development of Australian Democracy" to "Democratic Rights and restrictions" given that several colonies did not give democratic rights to women, Indigenous people and Asians until the 20th century. I have added content from History of Australia

Happy to discuss. Aemilius Adolphin (talk) 23:41, 13 July 2024 (UTC)Reply

Nationalism and federation

edit

Hello all

I have added content from History of Australia which is based on recent scholarship. I have changed the heading from "Push for Federation" to "Nationalism and federation" to better reflect the new content. I have added sub-headings to make the text easier to follow. I have added a better image of Henry Parkes and an image of Henry Lawson.

Happy to discuss Aemilius Adolphin (talk) 06:06, 14 July 2024 (UTC)Reply
