History (Canadian TV network)History (Canadian TV channel) – Although I'll acknowledge that in common usage the distinction between a television "channel" and a television "network" is frequently befuddled and not well-maintained, this is not a "network" by the proper definition of that term: it is not a terrestrial service which distributes its programming by means of multiple local television stations in different parts of the country. Rather, it is a specialty service which distributes one consistent programming signal nationwide via cable and satellite, without any "network" of separate local partner entities or any local variances in programming, so it is more properly described as a channel rather than a network. • Oppose as this is wholly-owned by Corus Entertainment, the current naming fits with the guidance at WP:Naming conventions (broadcasting). "Channel" is a term which is largely deprecated in the modern industry and is specifically used in the context of a virtual number assigned on a Pay TV service or other specific method of viewing the content. In this case, the "channels" are the East and West feeds, as well as the StackTV, app, and other online streaming -- whereas this article discusses the overriding network of those channels. Wikipedia has very few articles which cover specific "channels" correctly as defined by WP:NCBC#Channels. -- Netoholic @ 20:43, 16 April 2020 (UTC)Reply
