This school district has one K-8 school, one teacher, and about 20 students. There is not enough coverage to significantly expand this stub. The small amount of info can be added to the article on the community, which itself is barely more than a stub, without any "harm" to either topic. MB 03:28, 23 January 2022 (UTC)

Comment - On Talk:Hillside Elementary School District I saw the notice that NGEO has a presumption of notability but not guaranteed notability. However it explains further, about populated, legally-recognized places:

"Populated, legally recognized places are typically presumed to be notable, even if their population is very low. Even abandoned places can be notable, because notability encompasses their entire history. One exception is that census tracts are usually not considered notable. WP:GNIS and GEONet Names Server do not satisfy the "legal recognition" requirement and are unreliable for "populated place" designation."

Honestly I would hope that there would be published sources about the school district that turn up somewhere, because there have been cases where the school districts are small but I found quite detailed newspaper articles about them. WhisperToMe (talk) 17:41, 25 January 2022 (UTC)

"Presumed notable" does not mean they are notable. This is one of those exceptions. Unless sources are found with detailed information to expand the school district article, I think a reader would get a better understanding of this ghost town and its legacy by reading everything we have in one article. If someone were looking for info on the school district specifically, the redirect would take them here and they would see a little background on the community at the same time. After reviewing Newspapers.com coverage it seems that it doesn't carry the local Prescott, Arizona paper. Supposedly its archives are on Google News but the search engines don't seem to work well. I will contact them over Facebook Messenger to see if the staff can help me on this hunt. WhisperToMe (talk) 21:43, 25 January 2022 (UTC)

I e-mailed the editors of the paper, explaining I am looking for in-depth articles about the school to save the Wikipedia page, and if they can find such articles I would be very happy. I was given a list of articles, though they all seem to be paywalled. I'm trying to see if I can get permission to view some of the articles so I can see if I can use them as sources. I think this is why the presumption of notability is there, because of the difficulty of going behind paywalls or finding articles on microfilms.

Judging by the headlines, it seems that about every two years on average, there is some sort of passing mention in an article. This would be routine coverage, not significant in-depth coverage. MB 23:35, 25 January 2022 (UTC)

As two of the headlines mention the name of the district, I'd have to see the articles themselves and what content they support on whether they provide "Significant coverage" and/or whether their content is non-routine. Typically I think of a "passing mention" as where the subject is mentioned once in a single paragraph and that's it. WhisperToMe (talk) 02:15, 26 January 2022 (UTC)

I received the four articles from the Prescott, AZ Library. It was very nice of them to do that! Now sadly the first two didn't seem to describe the district in detail, nor were they describing a change in the chief executive (I typically count articles about superintendents being replaced towards notability). The third would be good "school culture" content to add to several articles about small Arizona K-8 school districts, but it doesn't really describe this district in detail. Fourth had just a passing mention. It's disappointing but I'll see if the county library (which has a branch in Bagdad) can help me in getting older articles. Sharlot Hall said I needed to contact the Arizona Historical Society, and so I am doing that. (Thankfully Sharlot Hall does have an article about the Bagdad Unified School District and I paid to have the article delivered to me) WhisperToMe (talk) 08:03, 21 February 2022 (UTC)
