Odd that someone tried for a speedy delete without even reading the article.

Anyway, the Iskra party (and perforce its founder) was important in that it was one of three groups which later merged and became the Movement for the Democratic Liberation of the Homeland (HDTW in Arabic), the main Communist party just before Nasser's revolution. I started the Schwartz article because it's actually hard to find anything about him in the literature even though he's one of the dozen or so important figures in the Egyptian left in this period. Will add info as found.
