September 2021 edit

This was a migration, as described by RS, and not a "military conflict". Whatever conflict it led to needs to be put into context. M.Bitton (talk) 16:46, 24 September 2021 (UTC)Reply

Yes, they were battles, including the ones amongst themselves, but to describe the migration (this is how RS describe it) as some sort of military conflict would both WP:OR and misleading. M.Bitton (talk)
Correct, and it was even a military conflict. It couldn't be a simple migration if it involved battles. This ended with the Zirids losing most of their land and being expelled to Mahdia, the same went for the Hammadids and Zenatas. Hilal092 (talk) 17:14, 24 September 2021 (UTC)Reply
Nobody said that it was a simple migration, but the fact that it was a migration that RS do not describe as a military conflict is undisputed (that's clearly your WP:OR). M.Bitton (talk) 17:20, 24 September 2021 (UTC)Reply
The source does mention the battles which occured during the invasion. How could battles within the invasion be known as military conflicts when the invasion itself isn't? Hilal092 (talk) 17:49, 24 September 2021 (UTC)Reply
It's very simple: the battles (including the ones amongst themselves) can be described as military conflicts and if they are notable enough, they can even have their own article (such the Battle of Sétif), but the invasion/migration is not a military conflict and no RS describe as such since it involves a hell of a lot more. That makes sense but I don't believe that there is a need to merge this article, it has its own importance. Hilal092 (talk) 18:15, 24 September 2021 (UTC)Reply
I think a separate article is warranted. Its title and its precise topic are separate issues. For example, we could limit it to (or centre it around) the fall of Kairouan in 1057 and title it accordingly. That is the key event. Srnec (talk) 15:29, 15 July 2022 (UTC)Reply
