hey I'm going to add in how Malekieth was burned in the Eternal Flame, and therefore not the rightful Pheonix King. Also didn't Aenarion, two kids before Malekieth- Morelion, and Yvraine.(Lucas(CA) 01:52, 27 August 2006 (UTC))

Yes, he did. Yvraine became the next Everqueen, while Morelion (as the son of Astarielle) was older than Malekith and would thus have been the real successor to Aenarion's throne. I'll make that minor change now. Lathaniel

Intro

This intro really needs redoing; it says more about the Dark Elves than High Elves. In fact, there is more Dark Elves info in this intro than in the Dark Elves article intro. Anyone with a good High Elves background able to change?

The beginnings of the High Elves are rooted in the stories of the Old Ones and how they came to the WH world, creating new races, among which were the elves and Dwarfs. The High Elves are only a fragment of what they once were, though, because in a way, they have been defined by the Sundering (where the Dark Elves broke away) and the War of the Beard (at the end of which, they withdrew to Ulthuan). So while there could certainly be some things added (if nobody else does, I'll do it myself, and at the same time correct some of the spelling mistakes I can spot), the parts referring to the Dark Elves should certainly remain. The intro says that elves are "nearly immortal" and then gives an approximate life expectancy. That's not nearly immortal.

Atlantis??

I dont know if Games Workshop has said somewhere that they represent Atlantis, but i always thought they was more like eskimos, thinking on its geographical location similar to GreenlandRovdur 19:15, 25 February 2007 (UTC)

Don't mean to flame, but you have poor goegraphical knowledge if you think that Greenland is in the middle of the Atlantic parallel with Central America. TheTrojanHought 11:13, 29 October 2007 (UTC)

Improve Link

Would it not be better if the pages for the elves were titled by their names for each other Dark Elves-Druchii, High Elves-Asur and Wood Elves-Asrai in brackets or something. Just wondering. TheTrojanHought 11:13, 29 October 2007 (UTC)

Honours

The "vandalism" that was just removed wasn't actually vandalism as the Honours have been removed from the newest edition of the HE army book. Should we remove them from the article as they are not representitve of the new High Elves, or keep them for "fluff" purposes? TheTrojanHought (talk) 11:36, 23 November 2007 (UTC)

Keep the Honours in, and say that they come from the earlier (6th?) edition, and aren't in the 7th, it would help bring some real-world context to the article. --Davémon (talk) 20:25, 23 November 2007 (UTC)

In game

I improved the section about the High Elves in the actual game. Still to be done:

• Add some stuff about chariots and repeater bolt throwers.
• Discuss strategies for different units? or is that too much?

Redirecting to parent article

Unfortunately, despite years of effort to encourage editors to approach the subject from an out-of-universe perspective, as of today this article still consisted almost entirely of material drawn entirely from the Warhammer sourcebooks. In the end, the only way to prevent that from happening seems to be to remove all of the in-universe material and start with a core which is purely from a real-world perspective at Races and nations of Warhammer Fantasy. I've now done that. Editors who wish to read about the intricacies of the various factions and so forth are encouraged to visit any of the large number of lively external wikis which deal with WFB now: a simple web search for "Warhammer wiki" returns plenty of excellent resources. I've reverted, as I feel that while you have the right reasons for the redirect, it is the wrong decision. External sites are all very well, but most people use Wikipedia as a starting point. Also, High Elves are a major race and major races have their own articles. In fact so do some minor ones, like the Kroot (WH40k).
