Discussions over translation

I had difficulty with the following phrases during translation: -- grubber 18:22, 2005 Jun 24 (UTC)

• Is township a good equivalent for Gemeinde?
• The difference between Vorstadt and Vorort in the History to 1918 section.
• Polizeiwachstube -- in 1918-1948 history
• Not sure how to translate this: Zwei durch das Feuer in Mitleidenschaft gezogene Allebäume wurden später als Revolutionsbäume gepflegt, gingen jedoch Mitte der 30er Jahre ein. It has been commented out pending someone who can translate it.
• Österreichischer Bürgerkrieg in English?

A few things ...

Österreichischer Bürgerkrieg is "Austrian Civil War" (literally) also known as the "February Uprising" (1934). Both are acceptable in english.

I am concerned about your link "Living in Hernals" which appears to be nothing but an advert. It probably needs removing.

The article "Hernals" was created by German-speaking user Grubber on 24-25 June 2005, with 22 sections of Geography, History, Politics, Economy, etc. translated from German Wikipedia in 9 edits. User:Grubber soon added the infobox, on 13 July 2005. The article had only minor edits for the next 4 years, but was listed with WP:WikiProject Vienna for expanded translation. On 31-Dec-2008, more full sections were added with translations for the section "Land use" (plus chart) and References. -Wikid77 (talk) 19:10, 31 December 2008 (UTC)

Reader interest

31-Dec-2008: According to automated stats in 2008, article "Hernals" was read about 690 times per month (23 times per day), although some might have been robotic bot scans (rare articles are read 0-7 times per day). Layout

31-Dec-2008: The layout of the article was copied from the German Wikipedia, which later changed. I modified the infobox to specify parameters for a more narrow display, with image_coat_width=130px and marginleft=0.7em allowing for wider text wrapping outside the infobox, on the leftside. -Wikid77 (talk) 19:10, 31 December 2008 (UTC)

Expanding land use/references

31-Dec-2008: I have added text for "Land use" & the "References" list, noting translation from German Wikipedia, updating the official website, and copying references from the German Wikipedia. In 2008, English Wikipedia continued to have unscreened articles, so verification is heavily dependent on listing the references, which are intended as "the source" of reliability for readers. -Wikid77 (talk) 19:10, 31 December 2008 (UTC)
