When I agree that the Border Collie is regarded by many to be "the best herding dog" (I am a life-long BC owner and have two right now), I don't think the following sentence is particularly informative or encyclopedia worthy: "The Border Collie is known as the best herder,but there is much controversey over this."

I've replaced that sentence with a brief discussion of the different styles of herding and how different breeds are used to suit various conditions. 71.196.197.174 21:38, 5 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

That's helpful, but more about the individual breeds should be in the article for the type of dog, like Herding dog or Livestock guardian dog or even on the Working dog article.
