The result of the move request was: Moved. The naming conventions for plurals agrees with the move. (non-admin closure). Anarchyte (work | talk) 11:02, 22 May 2016 (UTC)
Hepatic vein → Hepatic veins – They are more than one and usually referred to in the plural as on the page and TA Iztwoz (talk) 08:10, 15 May 2016 (UTC)
- Oppose, per Wikipedia:Naming conventions (plurals). Articles have singular titles, except in very specific circumstances. InsertCleverPhraseHere 21:36, 15 May 2016 (UTC)
- Hi InsertCleverPhraseHere this is usually the norm for singular types of item but where there are different types it makes more sense to have a covering page to avoid disambiguation pages apart from other reasoning. see scalene muscles, cerebral veins, cerebellar veins, anterior auricular veins, Von Ebner's glands, electroactive polymers, preflexes as just a small sample. cheers --Iztwoz (talk) 21:07, 16 May 2016 (UTC)
- Support there are usually three hepatic veins, so it is misleading to have this page with the singular. The policy and reason quoted above appear to be generic and do not consider the nature of the request itself. --Tom (LT) (talk) 22:20, 16 May 2016 (UTC)
- Support, per Wikipedia:Naming conventions (plurals). Articles have singular titles, except when they refer to
groups or classes of specific things
, specificallymultiple distinct instances of related items can be sensibly given a plural title when the alternative would be to create an inappropriately large number of short articles, one on each instance

- @Iztwoz: This is a contested technical request (permalink). Anthony Appleyard (talk) 20:50, 22 May 2016 (UTC)
- Move contested on Talk:Hepatic veins. Anthony Appleyard (talk) 20:50, 22 May 2016 (UTC)
- @Anthony Appleyard: Sorry, it does not work that way. The move was result of the RM above, it was properly closed, the random person on Talk:Hepatic veins has no business blocking it. Either someone reverts the RM close, or challenges it at WP:MR, but you can't just reject the NAC in this way. No such user (talk) 21:40, 22 May 2016 (UTC)
