References edit

I removed all unreferenced materials and replaced it with referenced, cited materials. There are two references, editors are free to add to the article using those and any other reference.--Work permit (talk) 02:22, 7 August 2009 (UTC)Reply

An editor added uncited material, I deleted it again.--Work permit (talk) 01:57, 29 August 2009 (UTC)Reply

I agree with the fact that you edited out the uncited material. The problem is that one of the cited articles is diputed and led to legal action action the newspaper. They published a rejoinder a few days later. This is the "Death Snatches..." article. Both the citations are highly unreliable sources. The best solution, in my opinion, would be to remove the entry altogether for the time being.

Do you have a link for the retraction? --NeilN talkcontribs 13:46, 22 September 2009 (UTC)Reply
A short look at the history of this article will show that multiple anon IP's and single article editors have attempted to spin the article with totally unsourced statements. One even threatened legal action against Wikipedia. The article as it stands has only two reliable sources, if one is deemed unreliable we should delete the whole article and salt it. Notability is barely established as it is--Work permit (talk) 04:06, 7 October 2009 (UTC)Reply

Deletion is the best solution. This article was obviously posted for self-serving reasons. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 41.205.79.24 (talk) 10:50, 7 October 2009 (UTC)Reply

It was, but now it has references and adheres to WP:NPOV. --NeilN talkcontribs 12:58, 7 October 2009 (UTC)Reply

Assessment comment edit

The comment(s) below were originally left at Talk:Henry Ndifor Abi Enonchong/Comments, and are posted here for posterity. Following several discussions in past years, these subpages are now deprecated. The comments may be irrelevant or outdated; if so, please feel free to remove this section.

Please note that the article cited as a reference led to a trial against the newspaper that published it "Death Snatches Dr. Enonchong from the Jaws of Prosecutors" for defamation. They published a correction which is also available online.

It seems that most contributions to the biography are to serve the personal agendas of the contributors and do not reflect Henry Enonchong's real life at all. He was neither the Saint some decribe nor the devil others describe. The original article was drafted by some of his children who wanted to use the Wikipedia entry as evidence in Court in matters related to his estate (as proof of their filiation). The other contributor is a long-time enemy of Henry Enonchong.

Hopefully, one day, the real story of the life of this greater than life personality will be written. For now, Wikipedia would do best by removing the entry altogether to avoid Wikipedia being used.
