Director of East India Company edit

The wiki page East_India_Company_directors doesn't show him as a director - there's only one Lascelles mentionned & that's Peter Lascelles. — Preceding unsigned comment added by TattooedLibrarian (talkcontribs) 22:28, 17 March 2011 (UTC)Reply

Google Books will show you a number of apparently reliable references. If you can show they are wrong then you should remove the article's claim to directorship of HEIC and show proof here. Interesting that your own research has not shown this to you. Eddaido (talk) 07:28, 15 December 2011 (UTC)Reply
Which books? If there is a reliable reference it should be added. It's not for others to disprove the contents, it's for editors to reference their work... Tattooed Librarian (talk) 23:10, 15 December 2011 (UTC)Reply
Perhaps you have made another mistake? Do you consider a Wikipedia list of directors an adequate resource for you to make your amendment? Is this which says "director, E.I. Co. 1737-45" sufficient for you? Its cited as the reference for the whole article. Want more? Eddaido (talk) 01:43, 16 December 2011 (UTC)Reply
No - you are missing the point. If you say there are (and I quote) "a number of apparently reliable references" then just provide one. That's what editors are supposed to do. The article is poor - there is one reference for the entire piece. I'm not saying he wasn't a director, simply that nobody has referenced it. As it seems you are capable of placing the link here, I wonder why you won't just put it in the article! Tattooed Librarian (talk) 00:17, 17 December 2011 (UTC)Reply

You must be quite mad! read what is stated above, the reference is There in the article! Eddaido (talk) 02:04, 17 December 2011 (UTC)Reply
