Notability edit

This page is still growing, please do not delete! I think there is sufficient evidence that Hudson is notable, well known, recognized in popular print media,(Tatler and Vanity Fair) and built a body of work that has been exhibited in prestigious galleries and sold to notable individuals in the art world.

I'm not sure what more is required regarding notability if the subject of the article has been described in print in Tatler, a widely distributed magazine as: "a whiff of the rock star about the inimitable Mr Hudson, one of the few people with enough pull to get the Chelsea set across to Shoreditch – they made their way east in droves for his sell-out show at Beach Blanket Babylon"? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Chewbacca66 (talkcontribs) 03:27, 15 March 2010 (UTC)Reply

A couple of things:
  • I do not see a reference to the Tattler article in the article about Hudson.
  • Real-world notability is different from Wikipedia notability. It must be established by meeting the criteria in WP:BIO or WP:ARTIST.
  • Notability must be supported by references that meet the criteria in reliable sources.
Unfortunately, as it stands the article does not meet the criteria for notability, nor is it supported by reliable sources. ttonyb (talk) 14:12, 15 March 2010 (UTC)Reply

The reference to the Tatler Black book is right there at: (5) (http://www.celebritiesworldwide.com/NameInNews.php?Year=2008&ContentID=3384 on the celebritiesworldwide.com website) Not sure why the following sources are not reliable: Vanity Fair, Tatler, Daily Mail, Saatchi Online. Please clarify. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Chewbacca66 (talkcontribs) 20:52, 15 March 2010 (UTC)Reply

The article has to meet WP:N, namely coverage by multiple independent sources. Find the sources, extract the information (paraphrase, not copy and paste), put it in the article and use the sources as references. See WP:REFB for a guide. Don't put the sources in the External Links section. Ty 14:21, 16 March 2010 (UTC)Reply
