Bastard son of George II?

edit

The article contains the following sentence: But, whether it be true or false that he was the natural son of George II, Hawley was always treated with the greatest favour by that king and by his son the Duke of Cumberland. How could Hawley - born around 1679 - be a son of George II who himself was only born in 1683!! -- fdewaele, 11 April 2009, 15:35 CET.

Yes I wondered about that too its obviously wrong somewhere. The article states that HH was made Governor of Portsmouth, however in the book "The '45" by Eneas Mackay (Pub.1908 and facsimile 1981) the author states that HH was was made Commander-in-Chief in Ireland after Culloden. Anyone shed any light on HH being a royal bastard or service in Ireland? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 78.148.41.132 (talk) 00:11, 22 December 2011 (UTC)Reply
