As a boy I read in some book of "True Stories of the Supernatural" (or whatever) of a young man who was told by a fortune teller that he would become Head of the French Army and be killed by a flying machine. He thought this absurd as he did not want to be a soldier and of course no such machines existed then. Then he became Minister of War and was killed by a plane crashing into a crowd (the picture was, I think, a plane of the Bleriot era). Looks like Berteaux was the man.
