Plot hole?
editWhy did Abe and the girl try and kill the dragon thinge? The old lady/ fox said that the world would end if Hellboy failed. And if he won the dragon thinge would go away. Thus it would have not mattered if Abe/ girl killed the dragon. Thus they risk their lives for no logical reason.
This may be a fact, not just an thought. I ask you is there any reasonable way out?
Well, the dragon WAS trying to eat Abe and Liz. It's not unreasonable for them to try and kill it because of that. Plus, it wasn't like they could run anywhere.TheHelldragon 06:06, 29 October 2006 (UTC)
But they could have just stayed in the cave, not attack it AND they started to attack because it was 'the right thing to do'. The fox said 'the dragon must not be allowed to join its brothers' and Abe/girl were like 'fine'.
Missing link
editThis is one comment about the article itself. In previous revisions of this article, there was a link to a companion article about the second Hellboy animated film (which hasn't been released yet). The latest edit (as of this writing, the latest edit was dated 31 Oct 2006) seems to remove the link to the companion article about Hellboy: Blood and Iron. Is there a particular (i.e., good) reason reference to the companion article was omitted? This is inconsistent, since the companion article for Blood and Iron has a link to this article. 130.13.165.237 02:14, 1 November 2006 (UTC) Rob Poole
- Just an over enthusiastic edit. I have tidied things up a bit and put the link back in. Thanks for spotting it. (Emperor 03:00, 1 November 2006 (UTC))
References to the comics...
editBefore this gets added on, I'd like to compile a basic list.
King Vold-Mentioned by Corrigan as her previous mission. The story of berserker ghosts and a headless king takes place in the comics with Hellboy and an associate of Dr. Bruttenheim as the focus. Appearing first in The Right Hand of Doom (Hellboy TPB: 4, 2000).
Heads-One of the foes that the demons, Thunder and Lighting, send to Hellboy while he wanders the spiritual realm. The story of the vampire heads plays out essentially the same in the comics, minus the Sword of Storms. Appearing first in the Abe Sapien one-shot (1998) as a back-up and collected into the Right Hand of Doom (Hellboy TPB: 4, 2000).
That's all I remember so far... oh wait, was the BPRD base the original one or the ex-nazi scientist one? Although I guess that is more trivia than anything else...
Inaccuracies
editIs it acceptable to include in the article a discussion of the series' inaccuracies? This show was terribly unresearched. Shikino 23:20, 18 December 2006 (UTC)
Doug Jones only played Abe Sapien's body, so to speak, in the live-action film. His voice was performed by David Hyde Pierce. It doesn't make any sense for Doug Jones to be listed as performing the character in an animated film. 125.238.31.50 04:51, 19 May 2007 (UTC) Sarah
Actually, Doug Jones *did* voice Abe in this animated movie. You can check that on IMDB or elsewhere. Andyh 23:32, 24 June 2007 (UTC)
Fair use rationale for Image:Hellboy Sword of Storms.jpg
editImage:Hellboy Sword of Storms.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.
Move article?
editAs per the actual on-screen title (not to mention the IMDb listing), shouldn't this article be moved to Hellboy Animated: Sword of Storms? (And similarly for Hellboy Animated: Blood & Iron?) 74.74.65.213 (talk) 14:06, 20 July 2008 (UTC)
Nod to another Comic?
editHas no one noticed the name of Professor Sakai (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stan_Sakai)? Especially with this plot it seems to be an obvious nod to the author of the Usagi Yojimbo comic (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Usagi_Yojimbo), doesn't it? —Preceding unsigned comment added by JoPf (talk • contribs) 14:00, 14 March 2010 (UTC)
