Delineation?

Should there be any inclusion of the separation of SHePHaTIM from DaNIM in the article,Since the Judges in the eponymous Bible book are called Shephatim,but other names such as Daniel and Daniah,include the other word translated as "judge" Dan,and they tend to imply differing shades of meaning.Sochwa 06:58, 11 February 2007 (UTC)

One of the rare instances where it would be better to rename to match the categories. The relevant parent category is Category:Hebrew Bible people under Category:Hebrew Bible. Exclude New Testament.

• Weak Support. I think the title is clear enough as it is, but more clarity would not hurt. In the New Testament, there are a couple of unnamed or hypothetical "judges", and named people plus the Christian God who are described as "judging" or in the role of a judge (even though that is not their (primary) occupation), and excluding them explicitly has merit. Abimelech

The source provided about Abimelech being "questionable" as a judge, is simply referring the passage from the Bible in Judges chapter 9. But Judges 9:22 states "When Abimelech had reigned* three years over Israel..."[KJV] The Hebrew word translated "reigned" in this verse, is the same Hebrew word root which is translated "judged" in Judges 10:2 (referring to Tola) and in Judges 10:3 (referring to Jair).

Unless a better source can be provided to refute Abimelech's status as a judge, then I would suggest that Abimelech really should be included in the list of Judges. Otherwise, who ruled/judged Israel for the three years between the death of Gideon and the death of Abimelech? It can only be Abimelech, as stated in Judges 9:22.
