This should not be merged with "health research" which is a term that can embody anything related to health at all including clinical trials, basic science research, quality of care surveys, and cost-benefit analysis. Health services research is more specific and is more concerned with delivery and access to care. Clinical drug trials are usually not considered health services research. Epidemiological studies may or may not be health services research.

Both articles could use improvement as of this writing (5.23.07)
