Note that much of the text in the History section can also be found in an article about the Hawkesworth Bridge published at the Cayo Tour Guide Association website. The actual text of the article says: "The foundation piles were carried to bedrock at a distance of 12 feet below surface; the rise to a height of 46 feet above river level and the deck of the bridge at the centre of the main span was 52 feet above road level, and 7 feet above the highest known flood level."
