Talk:Haunted (Beyoncé song)

Redirect January 2014 edit

"Haunted" is yet to meet the requirements for notability as per WP:NSONG, ie. not ranked on a national sales chart, nominated for significant awards or been independently released. Please note:

Coverage of a song in the context of an album review does not establish notability. If the only coverage of a song occurs in the context of reviews of the album on which it appears, that material should be contained in the album article and an independent article about the song should not be created. — WP:NSONG

This page should remain a redirect until it meets the aforementioned requirements, otherwise we will be creating a page for every track on the new album, which is unnecessary as it stands. Davidmichaelscott (talk) 00:47, 2 January 2014 (UTC)Reply

Hmm, I would argue WP:GNG. There are enough details about the song and the music video to put together a short article. Now, even as I am trying to expand the article, I am having to work around a redirect tag. I say let the article snowball. --Another Believer (Talk) 01:56, 2 January 2014 (UTC)Reply
I see where you're coming from, but I don't see how "Haunted" is more notable than any of the other tracks on the album and therefore deserving of its own page. The majority of notable sources detailing it do so in the context of an album review, which as stated above is not really sufficient. I think the "***Flawless" article is justifiable as its garnered specific attention from journalists outside the format of album reviews because of its feminism themes and the Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie sample. "Haunted" on the other hand has had no such coverage really. The information can in the mean time easily be summarised in the main Beyoncé article. Here are some more sources (strictly about the song, not album):

"Ghost" edit

Any thoughts on how "Ghost" can best be incorporated into the article? I predict there will be production and reception info for both songs, but likely not enough for "Ghost" to have a separate article. Currently, the pairing of the two songs is included in the music video section, since "Ghost" is only on the visual album, but I am open to alternatives. --Another Believer (Talk) 05:42, 2 January 2014 (UTC)Reply

I have a similar problem/issue with the Partition (song) article, you can have a look at it. So far, I haven't got to the composition section, but I've already started the music videos section. Anyway, I was always (well, for the last three weeks ;)) thinking about "Yoncé" and "Ghost" as songs. Or, if there would be any objection [among other Contributors] to treat them as such, at least parts of "Partition" and "Haunted", respectively – parts which have their own title. I'm a little disappointed when I read an album review, in which the author quotes some lines from "Ghost" and calls them "Haunted", or writes that Beyoncé raps "I sneezed on the beat and the beat got sicker" in "Partition", as in this review ;) I would prefer to think that "Haunted" is a track that consists of two songs, "Ghost" and "Haunted" (why did Bey have to complicate it like this?). Anyway, I definitely think that these songs shouldn't have separate articles. — Mayast (talk) 00:30, 4 January 2014 (UTC)Reply
