The claim that Robert Hartig discovered the Hartig net has been propagated through Wikipedia like a virus. Apparently people who write it get all their information from Wikipedia and recycle it. The Hartig net is named after his father Theodor Hartig, who described it in 1842. Two of many sources:

Lichen edit

The mention of lichens should be removed altogether. Lichens are a very different symbiotic system. The citation given here is a review that broadly covers many symbiotic systems, and is inappropriate unless used to cite specific information that it provides regarding ECM fungi Forestfungi (talk) 00:56, 27 September 2023 (UTC)Reply
