Machete or kukri

No, consensus is that it is a Kukri, but there is no printed source verifying it. I am recommending this page for deletion; Marshall is not notable according to the Wikipedia standards see - Wikipedia:Notability (people). Unless there is some sort of reference as to what he is notable for, the page should go. Everything in the article so far can be used in the picture caption at the sniper page or at Calgary Highlanders. Michael Dorosh 14:43, 28 April 2006 (UTC)

Okay, using a website that I've created as proof that it is a machete is a little silly, especially since I've moved that page and the link you give is dead. Here is the new page.

The assistant curator of the regimental museum insists it is a kukri. So we're left with a battle of opinions. Best resolution - call it an 'edged tool' as I have done and then both sides are right. On further discussion, wonder if the museum knows what a bill hook is - still looking for a printed reference what the tool may be. A bill hook is a curved blade used to clear underbrush, so would make more sense than a kukri.Michael Dorosh^Talk 15:01, 19 September 2018 (UTC)

Marshall in 1970s

English or French Canadian?

I was at the Juno Beach museum at Juno landing site, Normandy, France, to see where our Canadian soldiers landed and such, and look at the German bunkers, the Canadian historical value, the items in the museum etc., and was very very amazed and thought it was extremely interesting, I learned alot of things I didn't know, and was happy about the visit. However, I remember seeing Harold Marshall's section in the museum, about how he was a top rank sniper and it showed battle footage of him taking out a few krauts and him talking etc., but I can't remember if it mentioned him as coming from Quebec, or Toronto, or something... for some reason I have it in my head that he's a French Canadian, probably because of the mustache, hehe. But, his name sounds English. If somebody could please tell me if he is English Canadian or French Canadian, I'd appreciate it. Just want to know. Thank you! RyanRP 22:03, 3 December 2006 (UTC)

Don't let the bullshit drown you, Sherurcij. On another note, another picture of Marshall was uploaded to the site and some bright light decided to delete it, despite its being devoid of copyright. It clearly showed the kukri on Marshall's side. Wikipedia gets to be more of a joke every day.139.48.81.98 21:37, 20 February 2007 (UTC)
