Bright as day? edit

Are we supposed to infer from the figure below (which also appears in the article), that the conditions at Johnston Island were as bright as day after the Hardtack Teak explosion?

Top: Facility on Johnston Island prior to burst. Bottom: Immediately after burst, 76.8km in altitude.

That's correct. The test took place at about midnight local time. The blast turned night into day on the ground. There are quite a lot of video clips showing the effect (which is where I got the image from initially), a rather poor-quality one is here: https://youtube.com/OLbyY76zt9w?t=47 I'll edit the article to add some detail about this. ☽Dziban303 »» Talk☾ 20:46, 27 April 2018 (UTC)Reply

Links for refs 5, 9, and 10 edit

I believe the URL for these links should be https://www.dtra.mil/Portals/61/Documents/NTPR/2-Hist_Rpt_Atm/1958_DNA_6038F.pdf. I didn't change them in case I'm wrong...Old CDR (talk) 03:51, 31 December 2020 (UTC)Reply
