While reading between the lines I presume that this means that Laternser was an expert in English Common Law and derrived legal systems of the various English speaking countries, "Anglo-Saxon Law" could be ambiguously read as to mean that Laternser was an expert in the Laws of the Anglo-Saxons (ie Alfred the Great or Edward the Confessor or Offa of Mercia, etc)
