Her father's name was Francis - the birth record for 1795 in Leyland Lancs is precise. It's generally agreed (see John Jones's article in the ODNB - Jones was a Fellow of Balliol, which was one recipient of her charity) that James had been her brother - another, Ralph, had been a surgeon.
