editI started from scratch, following the same general outline but just listed the salient points of his career without the embellishments and detail of his published biography. The sequence is necessarily the same as it is chronological.
The essential points for Wikipedia readers would be following his father, the first American killed in Vietnam (1957) in the Green Berets, his various musical groups and discography.
- I still feel that your rewritten version is a derivative work, in particular an abridgement (see Wikipedia:FAQ/Copyright#Derivative works). Most of your wording remains the same, you just removed details. My opinion, however, is not the final word on the matter - an admin will review the article in a week and make a final determination. In the meantime you can get other opinions and/or help in rewriting the article to avoid copyright problems. (I'm pretty terrible at extensive rewriting or I'd volunteer). Thank you. Where should I go to do another revision - just regular edit location or the subpage?
- You can edit whichever place is easier for you, although the subpage is preferred. VernoWhitney (talk) 21:43, 29 April 2010 (UTC)
I just posted an all new version in the subpage. If it passes the copyright issue will it automatically be promoted to the original Hank Cramer page?
- Yes, an admin will move it over the original page. VernoWhitney (talk) 02:55, 1 May 2010 (UTC)
I cannot find references to make the class = selection B, C, Start, Stub are choices?? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 173.70.198.188 (talk) 18:25, 3 May 2010 (UTC)
OK found they are the Article Quality Scale - I assume the author does not make this rating. Who does? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Dalcrow (talk • contribs) 19:18, 3 May 2010 (UTC)
Removed the original infringing article completely as there had been no action in several days. Alternate version posted on Temp Page as requested. Left CopyVio notice as request was for only authorized Wiki Editors to do so. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Dalcrow (talk • contribs) 16:54, 4 May 2010 (UTC)
- I'm sorry, I should have specified when I replied to your question earlier. An admin reviews the copyright cases generally a week after they're tagged, so someone should look at it on Friday. VernoWhitney (talk) 17:05, 4 May 2010 (UTC)
No action yet! —Preceding unsigned comment added by Dalcrow (talk • contribs) 10:35, 8 May 2010 (UTC)
- Not true. See this comment from yesterday. VernoWhitney (talk) 12:21, 8 May 2010 (UTC)
