Why Music in anglophone title edit

Does anyone know why "Händel-Preis" has been wiki-translated here as "Handel Music Prize"? Why does it matter? For many purposes it doesn't much. And there may be a very good reason to add an extra descriptive noun in the English translation of the prize's name. But I'm still curious to know what it is.

We know already that the Great Man (aka GFH) is famous for his contribution to music. However, way back before The Change in Germany, in 1973, a "Händel-Preis" winner was Erik Neutsch. As far as I know Neutsch was no musician. If he was, it didn't make him famous. He was a writer. He wrote many novels. He won quite a lot of prizes. I think he was a True Believer. In any case, he was usually in good standing with The Party.

In German there's no problem with a leading citizen of Halle receiving from the city the Händel-Preis "for exceptional artistic, academic or politico-cultural services as far as these are connected with the city of Halle's Handel commemoration". But if I try translating the German entry on Neutsch for English wiki (which I just did) I find myself pondering the question of why a successful novelist should be receiving the Handel Music Prize. Handel Prize yes, but Handel Music Prize ... wieso?

As a sideline, there were other artists in the DDR days who won the prize who were not famous as musicians, at least according to wikipedia in German. There was Willi Neubert (1960) who was a painter. There was Wolfgang Rumpf way back when who was a theatre producer. I've not worked through the entire pre-1990 list, but I suspect there may have been other non-musicians in there.

If anyone is able to share any insights, thank you. And please. Regards Charles01 (talk) 19:26, 5 October 2014 (UTC)Reply

The official name is Händel Preis (Handel Prize), but topic is service to Handels music. "Das Kuratorium der Stiftung Händel-Haus unter dem Vorsitz von Oberbürgermeister Dr. Bernd Wiegand würdigen damit ihre herausragenden Verdienste um die Pflege von Händels Musik."
