Missing information

edit

As it currently is, the article is entirely about the genetics of hand clasping, and a very specific aspect of it at that. The article needs more information on the cultural significance of hand clasping: praying, begging, making a promise. It's also used when stretching, some gym exercises, with a hold, one professional fighting attack, and as a makeshift pillow. Opencooper (talk) 10:36, 27 February 2018 (UTC)Reply

I agree that more information is needed, like the cultural aspects as you say, but also more basic information about where hand clasping comes from as it has been seen that other primates like apes and monkeys do it as well. Maybe it's a sign of submission (look, my hands are locked)? That's the kind of information I was looking for. 2A07:A880:4601:1052:43E9:DAC1:900D:C5CC (talk) 00:54, 14 November 2023 (UTC)Reply

Personally, I've never thought of clasping hands as "interlaced", but regardless, this fails to include (what I feel to be) the more common form of clasped hands, holding palm to palm, fingers perpendicular. I'm bad at describing it, so like the image here: https://pngtree.com/freepng/cartoon-style-praying-gesture-clasped-hands_5437748.html 27.32.24.80 (talk) 06:49, 18 July 2024 (UTC)Reply
