exchange bank?
editWhat's an exchange bank? --Gbleem 19:15, 9 August 2006 (UTC)
An exchange bank is a bank that provides foreign exchange services to personal, business, corporate, etc. clients. Unlike many other banks in North America, Europe, or Australia, Korea Exchange Bank has a wide variety of foreign currencies at the branch, as most Korean banks do. Almost all Korean banks (including KEB) have US Dollars, Euros, and Japanese Yen at thier branches, with most of them also keeping a large amount of Pound Sterling, Swiss Francs, Australian Dollars, Hong Kong Dollars, Canadian Dollars, and many other currencies. --Jisulee96 19:07, 17 October 2008 (UTC)
- Actually, in western countries most "normal" banks hold foreign currency and provide foreign exchange services. Because nearly all banks provide those services, we don't have "foreign exchange banks"203.82.80.16 (talk) 00:33, 19 May 2011 (UTC). That is why Gbleem was confused.
Kookmin
editDid it sell to Kookmin or not? --Gbleem 02:14, 4 February 2007 (UTC)
- It did not; Lone Star balked in the end. See this story from November. Also this one from yesterday. -- Visviva 04:19, 4 February 2007 (UTC)
- Can you please make the necessary changes to the article. --Gbleem 17:23, 4 February 2007 (UTC)
Major changes to this page in the near future
editI am currently revamping this page on behalf of KEB and plan to add updates to every section. I am unable to fully update the page at this moment as I have requested information from the bank regarding the history, which at the moment is very unclear and unthorough, both on the wikipedia website and on KEB's homepage. Once I have this information, I will be updating both the KEB homepage and this website. If you have any questions or suggestions, please do not hesitate to contact me at nick@keb.co.kr, thanks for your patience --Kebstaff (talk) 04:33, 20 May 2008 (UTC)

Ask me for many history or KEB questions, many facts ARE available at the KEB, website. Also, who is the person that adds inapropriate comments, such as "No, it isn't" at the quotation "Korea Exchange Bank is the only bank in Incheon International Airport that has a seperate coin exchange desk."? - Jisulee96 17:13 17 October 2008 (UTC) —Preceding unsigned comment added by Jisulee96 (talk • contribs)
- The person is probably adding those comments because it's annoyingly trivial to say that it is the only bank at the airport with a coin desk. Who cares about such minutae? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 203.82.92.1 (talk) 02:08, 18 July 2011 (UTC)

Korea Exchange Bank → KEB Hana Bank – Since the bank has merged with Hana Bank and Hana Financial has decided to rebrand all their consumer banks as KEB Hana Bank, it only makes since to change the name of the page as the Korean page has done so too distinguishing from the consumer bank and holding company. - Oppose. This remains an encyclopedic topic. We should instead update this page to complete the history of the bank by this name (apparently such a bank no longer exists), and develop a page at the target that describes the current bank. Andrewa (talk) 07:23, 13 October 2018 (UTC)
