Notability edit

I think this page is notable enough, as several independent sources deem this topic notable enough that they have a page about it (these can be found in the references section). Cliff12345 (talk) 14:43, 20 January 2013 (UTC)Reply

No, it isn't notable at all. It's a stub, and will in fact be a permastub. The "independent sources" are not reliable by the standards of WP:RS and the chess project. The article is not useful on its own and is much better in context of the main opening, English Opening, which isn't even linked on this page. In fact this page is basically a dictionary entry that says nothing about the opening at all except to repeat statistics drawn from sources that aren't reliable for that purpose. The stats on chessgames.com report on the results of 47 games, and chess.com has only 10 games, which are ridiculously small numbers. If you look at Category:Chess openings you'll see that it doesn't belong there as it is too insignificant for an individual article. Individual articles for openings played only 50 times would put thousands of articles in the chess openings category. As an aside, this page is improperly is improperly capitalized, as chess openings always have initial caps. Since we disagree on this point I'll ask other members of WP:CHESS to offer their opinions.
