  • Izuru KamukuraHajime HinataMove back to Hajime Hinata. Although the character does identify as Kamukura at one point in the narrative, the endings of both Goodbye Despair and The End of Hope's Peak High School make it clear that Hinata is his primary identity. Infobox edit

Since this is a fictional character the whole "formerly" presented in the article in the feels kinda fancruft for the way it's treated like a real person. Shouldn't some parts be revised?Tintor2 (talk) 15:26, 26 February 2021 (UTC)Reply

Notability edit

To editors Kung Fu Man and Tintor2: refuse to edit war. If I were an admin I might salt this article immediately. I do know some admins who would salt it for me, but rather than that or edit warring, let's talk about it.

This subject, Izuru Kamukura, also called Hajime Hinata, a character in Danganronpa 2: Goodbye Despair, was deemed by a consensus of editors to be non-notable in a recent deletion discussion. As at least one editor, ferret, has noted, no amount of rewriting will improve on this character's notability. As I see it, there are two options: 1) editors can take this deletion to be reviewed by other editors at Deletion review to make your notability arguments and attempt to overturn the deletion, or 2) you can "draftify" or "userfy" this article by moving it to the Draft: or your User: namespace. Those are really your only two options that I can see, and they both begin with reverting your edits back to the redirect I made. It's the right thing to do until the notability question is settled to the satisfaction of all editors. If this character does not meet the notability requirements, then this article has no place in an encyclopedia. P.I. Ellsworth  ed. put'r there 04:25, 28 February 2021 (UTC)Reply

Tintor2 isn't the original author of the deleted article and this is a separate work and currently in the process of trying to establish notability (which the original seen here made no attempt to). Given the drastic difference between the two articles if you feel it is still not notable perhaps a separate AfD may be in order but by all means if there's an actual effort to improve it, and some degree of notability can be established (which some of the reception section appears to) then it should be fine for an encyclopedia. We've seen similar articles that were deleted revived, with sources found that bolstered it even from before their original AfDs just overlooked.
In retrospect, I will agree the notability is in question: a lot of the references found don't really say anything or were stretched especially. Several just mention the character and role in the game vs actual commentary towards it. So unless Tintor2 can find more I would agree reverting it may be better: it's a case of it looks bigger until you check the seams unfortunately.--Kung Fu Man (talk) 04:58, 28 February 2021 (UTC)Reply
The edit history shows that Tintor2 was the first to convert this from a redirect to an article with this edit. Before that it was a redirect created in November of 2016. Thank you for looking into it further. I was not trying to "flex" anybody into doing something wrong. At this point I think the right thing to do would be to move it to Draft: space and, if Tintor2 wants to, the deletion consensus can be taken to Deletion review. @Paine Ellsworth: The page history needs clarification. The following is the deleted history: This page was originally created as a redirect in November 2016 by Raymond1922A, and unredirected on January 12 2021 by Verablanc01 , a 3X community banned sock. It was sent to AFD on January 16, and subsequently deleted on January 21 as non-notable. The character has two names however, and Tintor was editing Hajime Hinata. The page history of Hajime Hinata goes as follows: Created Nov 8 2016 by Raymond1922A as a redirect, and remained a redirect until February 25 2021 when Tintor unredirected it. On February 26, TokoChihiro (Another Verablanc01 sock) moved Hajime Hinata to IzuruKamukura inappropriately with improper spacing. Jack Frost fixed the capitalization on February 26, so that Hajime Hinata finally arrived at Izuru Kamukura. So there's really two article histories here, one of them overlaying the other due to a page move. That said, the topic is the same regardless of which name the character is called. Tintor has already opened a DRV, so we now have at least 3 parallel discussions going on, and I recommend this one close in favor of DRV. -- ferret (talk) 14:01, 28 February 2021 (UTC)Reply
To editors ferret, Kung Fu Man and Tintor2: thank you ferret, and the article has been draftified while at DRV (see discussion). P.I. Ellsworth  ed. put'r there 14:47, 28 February 2021 (UTC)Reply
Sorry for the late reply, but that seems to be the best move. I sent Tintor2 a shout last night about it with my concerns on the references, hopefully he'll be able to fix up anything on his end. The wholesale nuking of the existing work is what bothered me initially, glad to see we could reach a fair compromise without losing what work he had put into it.--Kung Fu Man (talk) 19:44, 28 February 2021 (UTC)Reply
