  • Link Geared turbine (a redirect to steam turbine) rather when it is first mentioned rather than later linking steam turbines when that term is first used?
  • Do we have an article or glossary or wiktionary entry somewhere to link bandstand to? Bandstand almost certainly isn't the right term, but it's probably the most familiar use of the term.
  • " one aft on a raised platform" - Is this the "central gun" on the bandstand mentioned earlier? Or is it the 2-pounder pom-pom gun? I almost wonder if there's a smoother way to connect the changes to specific features that are detailed.
  • "(The German 3rd Torpedo boat Flotilla and the Zeebrugge Half Flotilla were both deployed against the England-Holland traffic that night.) " - It seems weird to me to have an entire stand-alone sentence as a parenthetical statement. Also, are there links for the German naval groups?
  • Was Minos also a R-class destroyer? Or one of the Ms?
  • Do we know what type of ships the German vessels were?
  • "In the confusion, Setter had to turn sharply to port with engines at full power astern to avoid hitting Retriever." - Wasn't apparent that Retriever was part of the force; the article gives the impression that Sylph, Minos, Recruit, and Setter composed the whole of the flotilla.
  • Is the (1916) disambiguation in the title needed? I looked, but I can't find another HMS Setter, so having it at the base title HMS Setter would probably be better unless there was another ship with that name.
  • Sources look reliable
  • Image licensing looks fine.

Placing on hold, good work. Hog Farm Talk 02:32, 14 March 2021 (UTC)Reply

    • I didn't put the article up for review so I don't want to tread on any toes... but a few comments in response:
    • Bandstand is the normal term in the literature
    • There arn't articles for the German units yet
    • Minos was a pre-war Admiralty M-class destroyer
    • The two named torpedo boats were V25-class torpedo boats - roughly comparible to British destroyers - it isn't clear whether all the German torpedo boats of the 3rd Torpedo boat flotilla and the Z half flotilla were members of this class.
    • It was actually Recruit that Setter took action to avoid - the four destroyers comprised one of two divisions meant to be escorting the convoy - the other was tasked with covering the front of the convoy while Setter's division covered the rear - the fog meant that this was intention rather than fact.
    • According to Manning and Walker's British Warship Names there were two "smaller vessels" as well as the destroyer, one of which appears to have served in the Atlantic during WW2.Nigel Ish (talk) 20:30, 14 March 2021 (UTC)Reply
  • @Hog Farm: Thank you for this thorough review, and thank you, Nigel Ish, for your highly appreciated contributions too. I have amended the paragraphs to remove the confusion around the gun positions and integrated the parenthetical statement in the narrative. I have also added red links for the German flotilla, following that in the Order of battle at Jutland. simongraham (talk) 07:11, 16 March 2021 (UTC)Reply
