H.M.S. Hector 1865. edit

Born 1845, Arthur Herbert aged 14 became a Naval Cadet at Portsmouth and at sea, in 1859 he trained on the "Britanna" and in 1865 he became a Sub-Lieutenant on H.M.S Hector, Channel Squadron. In 1866 as Sub-Lieutenant he was sent to serve on the H.M.S. Liverpool and H.M.S. Topaze. Other ships include:

H.M.S. Wivern. H.M.S. Invincible. H.M.S. Thistle. H.M.S. Elke 1874 (also called The China Station. H.M.S. Juno. at Singapore. H.M.S. Fly H.M.S. Vernon (Gunnery Course) H.M.S. Decoy. (Screw Gun-Boat) H.M.S.Defence, 1884. H.M.S. Penelope. H.M.S. Darling and H.M.S. Sphinx.
