Royal Navy's first all-welded warship
editSadly not the case. HMS Contest, laid down in November 1943 was the Royal Navy's first all-welded warship, following successful construction experience with HMS Cavalier and her sister ship. HMS Delight was not laid down till 1946. The confusion comes from the intention that the entire Darings' be the Royal Navy's first all-welded warship class, which for various reasons did not happen with Daring, Decoy, and Diana of hybrid construction. What the Daring class did become was the first all-welded ships to be constructed in Australia. Mingebinge2 (talk) 02:17, 5 February 2022 (UTC)
