Assessment edit

I have upgraded this to Start Class, as it contains more detail and organization than would be expected of a Stub, and of low importance, as it a highly specific topic within Canada. Cheers, CP 14:42, 7 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

Can I post my pictures here? edit

I visited the Haida yesterday July 1st , on Canada Day 2008. It was even free.. I took some digital photos, is it OK for me to post them here?

Secondly, the number on the side of the ship is now '215' not G63. I could find out more about the change and post it here as well if need be. Gedvondur (talk) 18:56, 2 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

Great! It might be better to upload them to the commons though. Images uploaded to the commons can be used by all the wikis, not just the English wikipedia. Geo Swan (talk) 00:18, 3 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

How many depth charges... edit

U-427 asserts the Haida, and a sister ship, tried unsuccessfully to sink the U-427 with 678 depth charges. I am extremely dubious, as I thought the typical depth charge load was about four dozen depth charges.

I could believe U-427 survived 678 depth charges over her full four year career. I do not believe two vessels that only carried dozen of depth charges could have expended hundreds of depth charges.

I could believe that U-427 had 678 smaller hedgehog mortars launched at it, and they all missed. But hedgehogs only explode if they hits, so the crew of U-427 would have no way of knowing this.

Anyhow, this article doesn't say, and should say, the total number of depth charges carried. Geo Swan (talk) 02:12, 11 July 2020 (UTC)Reply
