Added a table of contents, and I seperated the name info from the intro, and added to it slightly more, i also put in the 'Noteable Achievements' which could be expanded on, ill try to expand on it later (finding detailed info about achievements by subs seems to be pretty hard, they don't release much detailed info), also i added 'External Links' and am in the process of looking for a news article URL that mentions the facts in the 'notable achievements' section (all news sites that had anything have the story as expired now)--Nirvana- 03:42, 13 March 2006 (UTC)

Not sure if this image is too long, it was very difficult to find a good image of HMAS Waller, but if anyone has any good ones that are more similar in size to the ones on HMAS Rankin/Sheean/Dechaineux pages, it might look better--Nirvana- 03:42, 13 March 2006 (UTC)

Conflicting info on Waller target

This article says Waller fired a Mark 48 torpedo at the "decommissioned US destroyer the USS David R. Ray (DD-971), becoming the first submarine to successfully fire the MK 48 Mod 7 Common Broadband Advanced Sonar System (CBASS) variant of this torpedo." WIKIPEDIA'S entry for the David R. Ray, however, says it was sunk by fire from eight U.S. and Japanese ships, plus three aircraft. A website for the Lake Erie Ohana (http://www.lke-ohana.org/lke/2008/07/lake-erie-havin.html) confirms the latter claim. Does anyone know for sure the name of the ship sunk by Waller and CBASS? "7200 SHP" ?

Maybe I'm missing something? Three diesel engines making 1400 kw each equals 4,200,000 Watts. One hosepower is about 746 watts so it would have at most 5630 shp if we don't even mention frictional losses. So where does the shaft pick up this 28% increase in power? Is my thinking wrong or it there an error? Thanks- 76.171.125.202 (talk) 15:07, 2 January 2012 (UTC)

The three 1,400 kW motors are not directly connected to the propulsion system. Their only purpose is to generate electricity, which is then stored in batteries. When underwater, the electricity is drawn from these batteries and directed to the electric motor.
