This article is in good shape. I have a few comments:

  • "and the Crete" or "and the island of Crete"
  • "Syria-Lebanon Campaign, bombarding Vichy French targets"
    • I don't understand your point here.
I suggest dropping "and" and replacing it with a comma, as the last part of the sentence isn't in addition to the first part, it just provides detail. Peacemaker67 (click to talk to me) 03:30, 18 August 2019 (UTC)Reply
As a retired forward observer, I think of these as two different missions. One needing an off-ship observer and the other one not.--Sturmvogel 66 (talk) 19:15, 20 August 2019 (UTC)Reply
  • The ship remained on these sorts of tasks→The ship continued to perform these tasks
  • link Dutch East Indies
  • but was torpedoed
  • suggest "The design of the Leander-class cruisers was adapted for the 1932–1933 Naval Programme to separate their propulsion machinery into independent units"
  • the crew numbers don't match between the infobox and body, I see this is the Australian complement, but don't we usually go with "as completed"
  • were the secondary guns fitted with gunshields or were they open mounts?
  • I assume the TTs were on the deck?
    • Perhaps a detail best saved for the class article?
Personally I don't understand why we would leave that out of the ship article, as it begs the question. Peacemaker67 (click to talk to me) 03:30, 18 August 2019 (UTC)Reply
    I've added above-water as I think that that's what you were looking for.--Sturmvogel 66 (talk) 19:15, 20 August 2019 (UTC)Reply
  • Amphion was commissioned?
  • suggest "and Perth wasas the last"
    • Thought that I'd dropped that already :-(
  • suggest "Most of the ship's company had departed Australia" as this is past tense
  • suggest "Perth was refitted inat Sydney's"
  • suggest "the ship escorted a convoy from Malta to Alexandria as well asalong with other elements" if that is what is meant?
  • "was damaged by a near-miss" of an aircraft bomb?
  • perhaps say where Tripoli was located, in Italian Libya, and link
  • suggest "with Perth suffering several near-misses"
  • suggest "which exploded in the forward boiler room shortly before 10:00. Four of her sailors and nine of the 1,188 embarked soldiers were killed."
  • not sure about the comma in "high-angle, fire-control computer"
  • minefield is linked to a dab page
    • It contains the definition needed.
It doesn't meet one of the exceptions listed at WP:FURTHERDAB though. Perhaps there should be a page for naval minefield, or we should like to the naval mine page? Peacemaker67 (click to talk to me) 03:30, 18 August 2019

  • That policy seems rather silly if the disambiguation page actually contains the definition needed unless they're trying to force a link to wikitionary or something. Removed the link.--Sturmvogel 66 (talk) 19:15, 20 August 2019 (UTC)Reply
  • suggest "and bombarded Vichy facilities through to the end" "through the end" is an American English truncation
  • relived→relieved
  • "after a fire that melted"
  • "and the cargo vessel 's Jacob"
    • Dutch ship name, properly rendered
  • state what sort of ships Swartenhondt and Karsik were
    • Source doesn't specify
  • state where the Sunda Strait is
  • "and the destroyers Jupiter" to make it clear they were also British
  • "Both destroyer squadron flagships" if that is what is meant?
    • they're the only type of squadron flagships mentioned
They could be the flagships of the cruiser squadrons. Peacemaker67 (click to talk to me) 03:30, 18 August 2019 (UTC)Reply
    There aren't any cruiser squadrons involved, only a pair of heavy cruisers.--Sturmvogel 66 (talk) 19:15, 20 August 2019 (UTC)Reply
  • suggest "while all of the torpedoes"
  • "sink the crippled ship"
  • "The Allies believed that the Sunda Strait"
  • "cruisers at 22:59 and intended"?
  • "Waller's ships" but wasn't there only Perth and Houston?
    • Waller was senior officer present, clarified at the beginning of the section
  • "and wounded 15"
  • it isn't clear why Hatakaze could not fire. Could you expand on this?
    • The sources aren't clear either other than to specify the water plumes of the near misses. There are some hints of cowardice on the part of her captain.
  • "and that explosives haved been used"
  • to avoid further deteriorating→to avoid further deterioration of
  • The wreck was surveyed by
  • haved all been removed
  • as hasd almost
  • "ARKENAS
    • Spelled out a couple of sentences earlier
No, I mean this sentence is in quotes and isn't attributed to anyone. Peacemaker67 (click to talk to me) 03:30, 18 August 2019 (UTC)Reply
    It's covered by the immediately following cite.--Sturmvogel 66 (talk) 19:15, 20 August 2019 (UTC)Reply
  • consider adding to the Legacy section that Waller was honoured by the naming of HMAS Waller (SSG 75)
  • suggest using PD-AustraliaGov for File:HMAS Perth (AWM 301166).jpg, File:HMAS Perth - men astride gun turret, 1941.jpg
  • File:.50 Vickers AA guns on HMAS Perth.jpeg, and File:StateLibQld 1 139266 Perth (ship).jpg, File:HMASPerth1942.jpg, File:Perth from Gloucester during the Battle of Matapan.jpg, File:Perth in February 1942.jpg need a US tag, some of these from the AWM could just use PD-AustraliaGov
    • I switched all the AWM photos to the AustraliaGov tag, but I have no idea what to do with the other ones as there's no publication or author information.--Sturmvogel 66 (talk) 22:14, 17 August 2019 (UTC)Reply
They'll probably have to go then. Peacemaker67 (click to talk to me) 03:30, 18 August 2019 (UTC)Reply
    Done.--Sturmvogel 66 (talk) 19:15, 20 August 2019 (UTC)Reply
  • on the talk page there is a query about Perth being the last cruiser acquired by the RAN
  • Earwig is on the blink, but I doubt there are any copyvio issues
Checked now, no issues. Peacemaker67 (click to talk to me) 03:30, 18 August 2019 (UTC)Reply

That's me done, placing on hold for the above to be addressed. Peacemaker67 (click to talk to me) 08:06, 14 August 2019 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for your thorough review. A couple of points need to be clarified.--Sturmvogel 66 (talk) 22:14, 17 August 2019 (UTC)Reply
