Confusing
editAs with several of the other serotype articles, I have added a tag to urge the authors to please explain difficult terminology so that the articles are understandable to a non-specialist. — Brian (talk) 22:23, 14 October 2007 (UTC)
- The tag has been removed as the page properly links to pages that give adequate background information.Pdeitiker 23:18, 14 October 2007 (UTC)
- Wikilinks are not an excuse for confusing writing. I'm not sure why you seem so reluctant to make this article (and other serotype articles) understandable to lay readers. — Brian (talk) 23:44, 14 October 2007 (UTC)
- Not reluctant, you haven't given the slightest clue as to what you think needs to be explained.Pdeitiker 01:44, 15 October 2007 (UTC)
This is a two-way street. There are many articles that I have found weak and I have gone out and done some research and made specific comments on the discussion page, and that is where I put them, I generally don't deface main-pages without a very good reason, I consider it rude, your statements are more or less pedantic. Its OK to ask a question, what does this mean? That generally get the ball rolling. Ask a question or make a statement that can be addressed.
- For an example of what I think needs clarification, see Talk:HLA-B53. The same concrns apply to all of these serotype articles. And I ask you to assume good faith and not accuse me of "defacing" the article. I sincerely think it is confusing and unreadable by anyone but a specialist, and this is a problem I would like to see addressed. — Brian (talk) 01:51, 15 October 2007 (UTC)
- As an example of the kind of explaining I think these articles need to give, I tried to edit HLA-B47, but I didn't even know where to begin. Reading the lead paragraph leaves me with few clues about what is being talked about. I followed the links, and they shed little light on things. I am not saying this to harp on the article; rather, I just wanted to say that I have made a good-faith effort to clarify the article, but I am incapable of comprehending it in order to do so. — Brian (talk) 01:58, 15 October 2007 (UTC)
