Untitled edit
Misspeeled Article? I believe this refers to Gaura Purnima. The Next one is March 2007 http://www.purebhakti.com/lectures/lecture20060314.shtml
- No, Guru Purnima is a festival devoted to one's guru. It has nothing to do with Gaura. —Hanuman Das 18:00, 21 May 2006 (UTC)
Yeoman services. edit
Dhaneshr,
You used the word "yeoman" for the services of Maharshi Vyas. I looked in WordWeb and I find it's not appropriate a word to describe Maharshi Vyas's services. Hope you know "Vyasochhistha", can't find a word to describe him.
Is the word "yeoman" right?

etymology of guru edit
I don't know Sanskrit, but I don't believe the etymology of guru given in this article. I venture to hope that someone more knowledgeable than I might evaluate it and change it if needed. 173.75.131.125 (talk) 21:58, 15 January 2019 (UTC)

Multiple enhancement, issues edit
- "Observed by" must include "Sikhs" too. Practicing Sikhs observe Guru Purnima. Also it is observed around the globe by people from all Indic Faith, not only in Bhutan, Nepal. - >>"The festival was revived by Mahatma Gandhi to pay tribute to his spiritual guru" : Vyasa Purnima always had its significance, Not that Gandhi revived it. Need annotation if "Guru Purnima" lost its significance and Mahatma Gandhi started a cross-nation awareness campaign for its revival. - The article should start with Veda Vyasa and significance of his birthday to be celebrated as Guru Purnima. 192.55.79.173 (talk) 10:04, 3 July 2023 (UTC)
