Incorrect and contradicting production numbers.

The first sentence (from the page) has rather ambiguous grammar. I believe the intention is to indicate the kilowatt-hours produced during some period of time, without that it appear in conflict with the next paragraph?

There are two machine rooms with ten generators each producing a total of 87 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity and saves 300,000 barrels of oil a day. The walls in room number two were decorated by the kinetic Venezuelan artist Carlos Cruz-Díez.

The Hydroelectric Power station Guri, was constructed in the Necuima Canyon, 100 kilometers waters above of the mouth of the Caroní River in the Orinoco. The development of Guri in his first stage began in 1963 and was finalized in 1978 with a capacity of 2,065 megawatts in 10 units and with the dam to a maximum level of 215 meters above the level of the sea. The final stage of the dam of Guri concluded in 1986 and allowed to elevate the level of the dam to the maximum level of 272 m a.s.l., being constructed the second power plant that houses 10 units of 630 MW each. That issue is meaningless now, in view of the national attention the dam got when its reservoir water level descended to a dangerous low, due to a prolonged drought. --AVM (talk) 20:52, 21 April 2016 (UTC)

Missing and outdated technical information

The article is missing a comprehensive description of the turbines that were installed in what seems to have been three distinct stages: their types (Francis, Kaplan, which ones?), their physical characteristics and dimensions, their power ratings, etc. Moreover, the dam and its power generators have been placed in grave danger by relentless exploitation in the face of ever lower water levels, caused by the severe drought from mid-2015 to April 2016. It only takes the contribution of one or more Venezuelan engineers, familiar with the installed power plants. Those turbines have faced the decay of almost two decades of neglect, mismanagement, lack of proper care and maintenance, you name it, as has been the rule with the current --but ailing-- chavista government, compromising the integrity of those huge and expensive equipment and companion installations. The article is lacking a lot of recent information on these subjects. --AVM (talk) 21:10, 21 April 2016 (UTC)

User:Wuerzele PLS do not misinterpret me. I was not referring to the original engineers who took part in the project of building the Guri dam and taking care of its initial provisioning of power turbines & ancillary installations, but to any engineers who might be familiar with the current status of that huge construction and its workings. About User:NortyNort, despite his ample knowledge in the subject of power dams, I notice he's (sadly) no Venezuelan engineer, nor does he appear to be particularly familiar with Venezuela's electric industry, so I hardly think we should have him in mind to come to the rescue. I'll see what I can do, but whatever description of the current issues I can build, it'll always be the target of Venezuelan pro-regime vandals obstinate in defending their "leaders", the scum that has destroyed most of the former civilization there was in the country. I have been rather busy in life lately. I took a look back in April but didn't come up with much. The best was this page at the Global Energy Observatory. It is a wiki-esque site but has references down at the bottom that are valuable. The Power-Technology article is alright but apparently is black-listed for some stupid reason. I see more good info on the commissioning was added recently. Unfortunately, as well, Venezuela is a somewhat closed-off country. Size of power plant

I have moved the following paragraph from the article page:

"The total projected hydroelectric capacity is 10,235 megawatts, one of the largest in the world."

I have found sources that give the power producing capacity of the power plant as 10,025MW[3], 10,200MW[4], 10,235 MW[5], and 10,300MW[6]. I cannot vouch for the reliability of each source, so there needs to a discussion of which source to use, or if the article needs to be somewhat vague as to how much power the plant produces. - Donald Albury 20:59, 12 August 2018 (UTC)
